☆ Fuck streaming. Services like Sp*tify are funding their own payola scam to push their AI “artists” into your earbuds every week and continue to cut real workers and creatives out of the value our own labor provides them.
☆ The streaming landscape in the modern age is more exploitative than ever, with services offering whatever dollar amount they want to pay (which is often $0,) rather than our fair share of the pie. These systems they set up stop smaller bands from ever seeing any cash for their hard work. These systems make it harder for human beings to stay in bands and stay creating.
